Course Name: Crime Prevention through Environmental Design
24 Hour Class to teach Basic CPTED concepts
The Basic CPTED course covers the theory behind CPTED and give an overview of the history of crime and the physical environment; the basics of CPTED principles and how they work; applying successful applications and techniques of CPTED to specific crimes; how to consider CPTED principles in plans to secure key public places and facilities; and how to conduct a community safety assessment using CPTED principles.
Items to bring to the CPTED training:
Digital/Video Camera w/ method to transfer digital images to a computer Power Point Presentation (USB SD/CF/MicroSD etc. card reader).
The second day of the training will involve training outside of the classroom environment which will be during the hours of darkness in the evening (typically shortly after sunset). Please be prepared to conduct training outside by dressing appropriate for the weather conditions.
