As we quickly approach completion of the 1st half of the 2015 calendar I’d like to reflect back on the chapter’s efforts and the status of the chapter. There were 17 chapter-sponsored events in the Puget Sound Region encompassing CPP/PSP certification study groups, 2 Social Mixers/Meet Ups (one in Kirkland and one in Everett), Store Design & the Customer Experience in Retail Loss Prevention, Museum Security Operations (with a behind-the-scenes tour of the EMP Museum), Cultural Awareness in Hostage Negotiations, 2 Women in Security Group sponsored events (Becoming Your Own CEO & Personal Branding and Dress to Success Charity Drive), a Young Professionals Meetup, Active Shooter Response training, and our annual Night @ The Ballpark (Safeco Field Outing). Whew, we have been active as a chapter! Having attended nearly every event I can say from personal experience that I enjoyed each and every one and hope those who attended have as well.
The chapter will be hosting a formal meeting that is coordinated & sponsored by the Young Professionals Group on July 16th at Northwest University that will be announced and posted online very shortly and continue our CPP study group sessions through the summer months, however, short of such activities the chapter made a conscious decision to parlay events during July and August in 2015 as we noticed a significant drop off in attendance during those months in 2014.
With Northwest summer in full force those months we all enjoy our time outdoors, with family, on vacation, etc so the more formal chapter activities will begin to pick up again after Labor Day. You can keep updated on these events by monitoring our chapter website Events section.
Highlights of things to look forward to for the 2nd half of 2015 for the Puget Sound Chapter:
(1) Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner October 8th in Bothell, (2) the Northwest Annual Seminar & Exhibits November 2nd & 3rd in Lynnwood (NOTE: this event is already posted online!) and (3) our Annual End of the Year Appreciation Event.
We look forward to seeing you there and if there are any questions please feel free to reach out to any one of the members of leadership to inquire. We are here to help! Stay safe during the summer months and enjoy the weather & time with your loved ones.
