The ASIS International 61st Seminar & Exhibits in Anaheim, CA have come and gone.  The Puget Sound Chapter had 68 of its members in attendance between September 27 – October 1.  A couple of Puget Sound Chapter members wanted to share their experiences (good & not to so good) while attending the conference: Dan Kieling (VP Corporate Security, Wells Fargo and Co) After being absent from the ASIS International Seminar and Exhibits the past few years this year was a year to attend and reconnect.  One thing I realize is that this is the biggest and best show of its kind for our industry....

I’d like to personally thank Karen Lauer for having served as the chapter Treasurer for the past year.  Karen has moved out of the security industry and into hospitality as Director of Operations for a Seattle based catering company.  She graciously was willing to stay in her Treasurer’s role these past few months while the board searched for a capable replacement. ASIS Puget Sound Women in Security hosted a clothing drive to support Dress for Success Seattle. Managed by YWCA, Dress for Success promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women. Dress for Success Seattle helps disadvantaged women feel professional, confident and comfortable as they go through the job search process. Women are provided with career development tools, network of support and head-to-toe work-appropriate outfits.
